Sleep Out in Plymouth Raises Money for the Needy

About two dozen people spent Wednesday night sleeping outside in frigid temperatures in Plymouth.

Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners used the sleep out to raise money for those in need.

They want to raise $2.6 million during their two month campaign. So far, they have raised about $1 million.

Minneapolis City Council Votes to Lower Property Taxes for First Time in 30 Years

For the first time in three decades the Minneapolis City Council voted unanimously to lower property taxes by one percent. Next year, 67 percent of Minneapolis taxpayers will see a decrease in property taxes.

The $1.1 billion budget passed Wednesday also tackled a retirement problem for the police and fire departments by hiring and training new members.

3rd Anniversary of the Metrodome Roof Collapse: Previous Coverage

Three years ago Thursday, two feet of snow collapsed the roof of the Metrodome. The panels of the Metrodome roof started giving way around 5 a.m. after the snow and wind proved to be too much for the structure to handle.

The collapse postponed the football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants.
