Maple Grove Fun Run Honors Local Heroes

Local heroes were honored Saturday in Maple Grove.

"Heroes for Hope," a superhero fun run and obstacle course challenge, was held to raise awareness and money for veterans coping with mental illness, like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder when they return home from war.

Storms Bringing Hail, Strong Winds Roll Through Minnesota

Thunderstorms with high wind gusts and the possibility of hail rolled through the Twin Cities and the rest of the state on Saturday evening.

The thin line of storms moved through the west metro, starting around 5:15 p.m., and into the east, according to KSTP meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas.

New Initiative at U of M Discourages Distracted Driving

Distracted driving is responsible for killing around 70 Minnesotans each year, despite the fact that it's illegal to take your phone out while operating a vehicle. An event aimed at stopping the habit was held at the University of Minnesota on Saturday.

Man, Woman Plead Not Guilty to Sex Trafficking

A man and woman from Minneapolis have pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges.
    
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 31-year-old David Nance and 26-year-old Ashley Crayton are charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion.
    
They each face a minimum of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Minneapolis Changes Food-to-Alcohol Ratio for Some Restaurants
