Crews Break Ground on Elliot Park Improvements

A Minneapolis park is getting a face lift. On Wednesday, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board broke ground on athletic field improvements at Elliot Park.

The project includes a new synthetic turf soccer field for youth and adult leagues run by the board. It will also be the new home to the North Central University Soccer Team.

1 Dead, 2 Injured in Separate Shootings in North Minneapolis

A 17-year-old is dead and a 16-year-old boy is hospitalized after a shooting in North Minneapolis on Tuesday, according to police.

Police spokesman John Elder said the shooting happened on the 2300 block of Fremont Avenue North around 3:30 p.m.
