Robbinsdale Appoints New Police Chief Following Prostitution Scandal

After a controversial exit by the former chief of police, the City of Robbinsdale appointed a new leader of the police department Tuesday night during a city council meeting.

Captain Jim Frazen, who was appointed interim chief following Smith's departure, was appointed the new chief.

Police ID Driver, Good Samaritan in Rogers Lake Rescue

The Rogers Police Department has identified the woman who crashed into a lake in Rogers on Monday afternoon as Karen Torgerson. 

According to Rogers police, Torgerson was driving on Interstate 94 eastbound near a waste management company, VEIT USA, at 4:10 p.m. when she crashed into the lake.

Neighbors are complaining of a rotten fish smell after hundreds of fish were found dead at Rice Lake near Maple Grove.

Bob Beck, who lives on Rice Lake, tells KSTP the smell of dead fish started roughly two weeks ago. "Going all the way around the lake there's hundreds and hundreds of dead fish in there, most of them small," he said.
