Minneapolis Police To Step Up Patrols For "Frozen Four" Rowdiness

Minneapolis Police will be stepping up patrols in anticipation of tonight's (and possibly Saturday's) University of Minnesota Gophers' "Frozen Four" hockey game in Tampa.  Police want to ensure any potential celebrations don't include unruly behavior.

Business owners, where appropriate, are being asked to review their security plans, provide staff for potentially large crowds, be aware of what is happening in front of their businesses, and if incidents develop outside, remove all possible projectile items if possible.

Rental property owners and managers are encouraged to remind tenants about responsible partying, the Social Host ordinance, and to be aware of what is happening on their properties.

Residents should call 911 if they witness any suspicious activity and remember that the ordianance for noisy or unruly assembly goes into effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Those hosting a gathering should limit the number of guests, keep the noise at a reasonable level, be aware of the time, and clean up after your guests.

Similar precautions should be taken during Spring Jam, April 19-22.
