Grand Reveal Party to Showcase Renovations at Animal Humane Society

A $200,000 renovation at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley is almost finished.

The renovation focused on the cat adoption facilities at the location, and Purina Cat Chow is footing part of the bill as part of its “Building Better Lives” program; the company donated $50,000 to help renovate the cat facilities.

Pit Bull Receives 'Good Canine Award' for Saving Brooklyn Park Boy

A Brooklyn Park dog received the mayor’s Good Canine Award for saving the life of a young boy.

Last October, Tatortot the pit bull got help for 4-year-old Peyton Anderson when he was able to smell that the boy’s glucose levels had dropped dangerously low and that he was nearly unconscious.

Tails are wagging because dogs can now roam free in another “dog park” in Edina. The Parks & Recreation Department recently opened a second off-leash area (OLA) at Strachauer Park.

NE Minneapolis Dog Parade

Dog lovers will want to be in Northeast Minneapolis on July 26th.  That is the day the neighborhood hosts the Northeast Dog Parade.  It begins at 6:15pm at Chute Park in Minneapolis. 

The parade goes along Hennepin Avenue and winds its way to the riverfront.  The event includes prizes for dogs, refreshments and giveaways. 

Dog Grounds Fundraiser in Minneapolis

The organization that runs three dog parks in Downtown Minneapolis is holding a fundraiser through art.  Dog Grounds is selling steel dog silhouettes for $500 each to raise money for their non-profit.

The pieces of steel are put up at one of the dog parks along with a small plaque.  There are more than 300 silhouettes that people can choose.
